| Garden Layout - Plants - Lupins
| I have only the one variety of lupin in the garden, and they were all grown from seed collected from a garden belonging to a customer of my paving company in 1997. There are 4 plants in the clump and they produced their first purple and cream flowers in their second year. They were raised in pots after being planted in late summer '97, and transferred to their final position as healthy, vigourous plants in the early summer of '98. They soon established themselves, and rewarded me with these blooms in the summer of 1999. |

They grow to approximately 750mm high, and the flower stalks are up to 450mm long, first flowering in June and then, urged on by dead-heading, produce a second flush of smaller flowers in late July. I've absolutely no idea of what the name of this variety is, neither has the generous customer who allowed me to collect seed, but if you can put a name to it, drop me an email. |
