| Garden Layout - Plants - Leucanthemums
| This stunner is Leucanthemum superbum 'Phyllis Smith', a frilly-flowered leucanthemum that is worthy of a place in any cotagge-style garden. The new growth begins in early spring as the new shoots emerge from the ground. By July, the plant is 1,5 metres high and by the end of that month, the flowers begin to open, revealing the pure white petals with egg-yolk yellow centres, | ![]() Leucanthemum superbum |

The flowers last through most of August and nicely fill the gap between the end of the delphiniums and the beginning of the autumn-flowering chrysanthemums which surround them. They also make excellent cut flowers for in the house, and, as far as I know, it has no real pest problems other than the occasional mis-placed aphid. The foliage is a dark shade of green and rather insignificant compared to the mouth-watering blooms. |
