Garden Layout - Plants - Crocosmia

I love crocosmia, mainly because they remind me so much of the great holidays we've had in Cornwall, when this plant seems to be in flower throughout that part of the world. 'Lucifer' and 'Canary' were intended to bring a dash of warm colour to the cottage-garden kitchen bed, but the yellow form, 'Canary', has completely failed to flower, although it has produced blades of foliage. The red form, 'Lucifer', isn't over-abundant either, but at least it does flower. I'm keeping my foingers crossed that this is one of those plants that improves with age.

Crocosmia 'Lucifer' has luscious orange-red flowers throughout August and into September. I'm sure it does grow taller, but my specimens only manage to get to about 450mm high, despite being in a prime spot in full sun with a rich but well-drained soil.
