Garden Layout

This is a diagram of the layout of my garden as it was at the beginning of Spring 2000. Take your time and wander round the garden at your leisure, there are some pictures of the garden to view on the photograph pages and most parts of the garden have their own page with fully labelled plan and photos. The spring bulbs are dealt with in their own section, too.
The name of each section should appear in your browser's status bar.

Clicking on any of the hotspots will take you to the relevant page for that part of the garden.

Bert-next-door's Garden

My garden is seperated from Bert-next-door's by a 600mm high waney lap fence. Bert-next-door's garden is a full 300mm (12 inches) lower than mine, and so the 300mm concrete base panel that is buried on my side of the fence is above ground on the other. Bert-next-door is a fairly keen gardener and grows roses in this part of his garden, as a border to his lawn. He also cultivates a 'Woodland Glade' on the embankment of the railway cutting, although the bottom of his garden is open, not fenced as mine is, and so his garden fades from lawn and borders to dappled woodland. Regular visits from his young Grandson tend to undo a lot the work that Bert puts into his garden, but that's what grandkids are for!
